Dempsey’s Self Catering Guest House is in a quiet and private spot in the suburb of Walmer, Port Elizabeth, Eastern Cape, South Africa. Hosts Jack, Kathy and Boots the cat, live on site (A recent addition is a free-spirited bunny who sporadically pops in to visit from over the road).

A year ago we opted for a new webmaster, Alan Straton from MyPE. We thought it would be easy enough to just pay him to do the web work and all would improve at a rapid pace, but no…he told us that we had our fair share of web work to do while he did his work! SHOCK! I had no idea about what lay ahead and was anxious about not coping well. Alan most patiently taught me how to create and publish postings from our website; he suggested I use my photography and concentrate on Walmer and all that it has to offer visitors and locals alike. I listened, took instruction and now a year later he is asking me to join a bloggers group! Thanks Alan.

My camera is basic, I don’t enhance photos, I don’t pretend to be a good photographer, journo or writer, I merely want to ‘keep it real’ and entice you to visit and experience all we share with you. I love Walmer, PE, SA, travel, tourism, nature and photography and thoroughly enjoy being able to express and share these loves.

Here at Dempsey’s we bask in peace and tranquility and aim to provide a peaceful and comfy stay for all travellers. We love this place! We love PE!
