Deaf Rugby Heads for Gqeberha

22 April 2024 By Port Elizabethan

SA Deaf Rugby will host an Open Day for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing Community to Embrace Rugby.

SA Deaf Rugby Association (SADRA) is proud to announce an upcoming EP Open Day on Saturday, April 27, from 10:00 to 12:00 at the iconic Crusaders Rugby Club B-Field located in St George’s Park.

This event is proudly partnered with Crusaders SAPS Rugby, and the Department of Sport, Arts and Culture.

This event aims to provide a welcoming environment for those who are deaf or hard of hearing to explore the world of rugby. It is open to boys, girls, men, and women interested in experiencing the thrill of the game regardless of previous exposure to the sport.

The EP Open Day marks the beginning of an inspiring journey for the deaf and hard of hearing community in the province. EP Deaf Rugby aspires to become a leading force in SÀ deaf rugby and is excited to nurture talent within this often-underrepresented group.

As an official associate of SÀ Rugby Union, EP Deaf Rugby stands to offer unique opportunities for participants.

Once regional and national competitions are established, individuals showcasing exceptional skills and dedication may have the chance to represent their regions with regional and national colors, opening doors to further achievements in the sport.

Don’t miss out on this groundbreaking event that promises inclusivity, passion, and the power of rugby to unite communities. Join EP Deaf Rugby on April 27 and take the first step towards a future filled with exciting possibilities in the world of rugby.

Any Deaf or Hard of Hearing players who are currently playing school or club rugby in the province are encouraged to mail vp@sadeafrugby.co.za so that they can be invited to attend SA trials ahead of our internationals in August against England, Australia, Japan and Zimbabwe

For more information or to RSVP to the EP Open Day, please leave a message on this post, send an email to vp@sadeafrugby.co.za or send us a DM on any of our social media platforms.
