Absa has announced the appointment of David Maphakisa as General Manager for Enterprise Business (small business) in the Eastern Cape, effective 1 August 2012.

Although new to the province, Maphakisa is not new to Absa and has a wealth of experience in financial services, having been with the institution for 14 years in the Free State, and Mpumalanga.

Maphakisa has worked in different business units within Absa, including Vehicle and Commercial Asset Finance as Dealmaker, Business Assessment Manager and Acquisitions Manager. He worked as a Regional Manager in Retail Sales and Service, Manager in Business Banking Services and most recently Sales Manager in Commercial Banking (Business Markets).

Maphakisa possesses extensive knowledge of banking, customer experience and relationship management within Absa Retail and Business Banking and is very passionate about excellent customer service. “This is the cornerstone of any successful business,” he says.

“I believe that the Eastern Cape has great potential and opportunities for small business owners. Absa’s Enterprise Business is well-positioned and geared to help entrepreneurs reach their business goals,” states Maphakisa.
