I have been silently applauding Daron Mann’s lifestyle change to vegetarian and after reading the article in the Weekend Post by Angela Daniels on Daron’s suspension from Algoa FM for comments made against the dairy industry, I mosied on over the the AlgoaFM Facebook Page to see if there was any further news from their side.
BUT, what caught my eye? A celebration of carnivore culture in a video showing someone cutting up the flesh of a beast to make Prego Steak Kebabs. One can’t help think that the timing and placement of that particular video on Algoa FM’s FB Page is a tad insensitive.
As a BE KIND person what should I do?
- Should I fire Algoa FM for offending me?
- Should I throw RED PAINT on their studio windows?
- Should I organise a protest to FORCE Algoa FM to NOT celebrate a culture of killing?
THIS is what I will do: NOTHING except write to say that I will do NOTHING.
Why will I do NOTHING?
Simple – my lifestyle change has blessed me with numerous benefits – with number one being a sense of calm, peace and oneness with the world that is almost transcendental. Couple that with the oneness that comes from a true union with a like minded person and I can forgive anything that anyone says and does against people who demonstrate true love for animals and the environment as shown by Algoa FM suspended Breakfast Show Host, Daron Mann. My new found peace has taught me that even while haters hate I am not those people, I am above them, on a higher plane, more accepting, more in tune and probably on a pathway to a longer, healthier and more productive life. So, do I want to allow those haters along on my journey? NO – let them continue on their own path to destruction and individual hell.
Consider this:
When you are a dairy cow you are sexually exploited, emotionally and physically exhausted until you can’t take it anymore and then you are killed for meat – normally at around 5 years old. Whilst the natural lifespan for a happy cow is 20. Consider all the stress and pain that you then put into your body in the form of “prime” steak, ribs and hamburger. We are what we eat eats and how what we eat lived – stress and disease in = stress and disease out.
Erin Janus in her YouTube video – DAIRY IS SCARY! The industry explained in 5 minutes- says; “Dairy is scary. Please share this video with anyone and everyone who still thinks dairy is just fine!”

Gail Gillespie Fox: Hope they have a lot of listeners express their “freedom of speech” of how archaic their philosophy is. It is defending those who have no voice, maybe they should have no voice on air and see well that does for their stake holders.
Charmaine Gradwell: You attract more bees with honey …. Insults , anger , belittlement will not attract people to a cause. If every DJ on radio used his position to promote personal interests and push personal interests in such a negative way, then he is wrong. No one is 100% perfect and no one leaves a 0% carbon footprint. No one is better than another person . Doesn’t matter how little people do, at least they are doing something little rather than nothing. Vegans come across as miserable people because of how they speak to other people. If they want to encourage more people to go vegetarian and vegan then do so in a positive manner. If people who helps animals, recycle , reduce carbon footprint etc continuously get told they hypocrites you so called perfect vegans , then people are going to stop caring completely. You don’t have to be meat free to care about the wealth fare of animals, nature and the environment. Some people are meat free and still don’t care about the environment (fireworks, natural resource consumption, don’t recycle) .
Linnae Nockler: Some issues are greater than the laws of man. Silence only serves the oppressor, never the oppressed. The dairy industry is horrific, as is the shameless export of sacrificial lambs. I hope there’s a positive outcome for this guy, he’s on the right side of history and morality

Amy P Wilson: How is what he said problematic in any way?? Because the station is threatened about their advertising? So one has free speech so long as commercial interests are not at stake? This is NOT what Constitutional values dictate. This is also not what free media is about. The dairy industry IS horrific. This is absolutely shocking that our media is being censored.
