Eagle eyed MyPE visitors will have noticed that the dam levels, after peaking on 17 January 2010 at 34.88% capacity (isn’t there a more negative word for capacity?), have slowly slipped down to today’s 34.26% capacity.
The levels of the Major Storage Dams supplying the Metro as at 31 January 2011 (Volume of water):
- Kouga: 37,4% (48 097 Ml)
- Churchill: 35,9% (12 778 Ml)
- Impofu: 25,0% (24 478 Ml)
- Loerie: 50,4% (1 975 Ml)
- Groendal: 66,3% (7 719 Ml)
- Average All: 34,26% of total combined capacity (95 047 Ml).
Although only a slight drop can be seen from last week’s dam levels, it is very important to note that strict water restrictions are still in place since our dam levels are still extremely low.
Residents are requested to do their utmost to save water.
