The Democratic Alliance in Nelson Mandela Bay today announced its list of candidates, for the 2016 local government elections; “which we believe will usher in a new era of change and good governance under a DA administration in Nelson Mandela Bay,” said Athol Trollip.
Trollip noted that the DA had completed our candidate selection process before any of the opposition political parties saying that; “The DA has a candidate selection process that is designed to select the best, “fit for purpose” people, who contest for positions in an environment of freedom, fairness and opportunity. We will not compromise on this, as it ensures that the best possible elected councillors will work for the communities, in the interest of good governance and service delivery.”
The DA’s democratic candidate selection process, comprises of rigorous online testing, biography evaluation, personal interviews, and performance assessments for incumbents and new applicants, in an attempt to yield the strongest possible team of candidates, all “fit for purpose” and ready to lead.
The two lists have been ratified by the Provincial Executive Committee, the Federal Candidates Election Committee and the Federal Executive and Trollip belives that; “The DA has the best possible team: diverse, dynamic, competent, committed, capable and passionate.”
We need honest public representatives who will work tirelessly to improve service delivery for the people of this Metro,” concluded Trollip.
