In these times travellers have two priorities: COVID-19 Safety Approved Accommodation that is Pet Friendly. Let’s face it, leaving your pets behind to a dog/house sitter is fraught with additional concerns around extension of Lockdown levels, curfew and the increased of contamination in a home left in the care of a 3rd party.

Hotels, Guest Houses and other Accommodation Establishments that are COVID-19 Approved are open and ready to accept guests allowed to travel during the lockdown. These properties pledge to operate according to the industry guidelines and protocols for hygiene and safety during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Safety Protocols developed by the Tourism Business Council of South Africa (TBCSA) espouse 5 core principles which apply across the industry for guests and staff:

  3. Regular surface cleaning of all types of surfaces.
  4. Physical distancing through-out all facilities and sites.

Amanzi Guest House

Amanzi Bed and Breakfast in Newton Park, Port Elizabeth offers bed and breakfast facilities as well as self-catering units. Backpackers are also welcome.

Accommodation is available for both short and long term periods and is the ideal location for business people and tourists. Bluewater Beachfront Guest House

Bluewater Beachfront Guesthouse is a luxurious guesthouse on the beachfront of Bluewater Bay, Port Elizabeth about 13 kilometer from the city centre, right on the beachfront, lovely sea view, 15 minutes drive from the University, 0,8 kilometer from shopping centre, near the N2 highway and approx. 25 minutes from the Eastern Cape Game attractions: Shamwari, Addo Elephant Park as well as the Sea view Lion Park. Only 0,5 kilometer from Swartkop’s river mouth.

Spacious rooms with lovely sea views. 12 rooms available; eight bedrooms en suite, a family unit as well as a two bedroom flat (B and B or self-catering) with lovely sea views and a bachelor self-catering unit. Swimming pool, guest lounge viewing the sea and safe parking.

The Farmhouse B&B

Located in Walmer, Port Elizabeth, these Spacious Country Style suites are tastefully furnished with antique cottage furniture and memorabilia. Standard double/twin rooms with bathrooms and family suites with lounges and kitchenettes, separate entrances and secure off-street parking. We offer a generous Farmhouse or Continental Breakfast or packed breakfast.

Covid Safety Approved: We pledge to implement a high standard of hygiene and cleaning protocols to ensure the safest environment possible for our guests. We adhere to the industry safety protocols set out by the Tourism Business Council of South Africa (TBCSA).

Room rates range from R300.00 to R345.00 per person per night sharing.

Summerstrand Beach Lodge

Summerstrand Beach Lodge is perfectly situated for either holiday, overnight, semi-permanent or business accommodation. In addition we offer a lovely Conference Venue that can seat between 22 and 30 delegates depending on seating style. We are located four houses from our main beach and within walking distance to all major sports events and the Boardwalk Casino and Entertainment World on the beachfront.

We are situated next to a Pick ‘n Pay shopping centre, two minutes from Humewood Golf Course, five minutes from Port Elizabeth International Airport and two minutes from Nelson Mandela Bay University. We are graded by AA Tourism.

We offer self-catering units, equipped with M-Net , fans, heaters, safes and fully equipped kitchens, DSTV Hotel package, as well as a B&B option. Breakfast can be served in our dining area or in your room. Lunch packs and dinner can also be arranged on request. All units have private entrances and secure parking is provided on the premises.

Beach: We are situated + – 300 m from our lovely Blue Flag beach. With our outstretched beaches you can take long walks, soaking in the beauty and nature around you.

Golf: The Humewood Golf Course is within 1 km from the Guest House.

Conference Venues: We have a Conference Venue that overlooks the swimming pool, creating a relaxed and tranquil environment. The Conference Facility can seat up to 35 delegates, depending on seating style you choose. Meals offered.

Family friendly: Children of all ages welcome.

Romantic: We offer a peaceful environment, with all flats having their own private entrances.
