On Saturday, Nelson Mandela Bay’s best hope of Premier Soccer League (PSL) participation, Bay Stars, armed with genuine local talent, showed Bhisho Young Ideas that even though they are newcomers to the Vodacom League, they are more than capable of setting the scene in the Eastern Cape leg of the championship.
This was clear when Luthando Batyo scored an impressive goal close to the 40th minute and Farouk Abrahams following it up late in the first half by converting a penalty.
The 2 – 0 score remained intact in the second half as both teams did not manage to convert opportunities.
Only five matches remain in the championship with Bay Stars still in contention for the top spot on the log.
