The Conversations group show at artEC (EPSAC) includes John Lombardo, Mkhonto Gawezela, Mary-Ann Kella, and Bantu Mtshiselwa.
John Lombardo’s collages illustrate conversations between people and their families. He works with found photos, ephemera, pencil, pen, and thread.
Mkhonto Gwazela’s work is created around social comments, where community comes first and the individual consciousness matters most.
Mary-Ann Kella is drawn to the ocean and marine environment, which sparked her interest in form. Kella is currently studying toward an M-tech degree in Ceramic Design at NMMU.
Bantu Mtshiselwa is taking a journey in clay discovery by exploring wet fired clay. He uses natural additives such as different seed pods and pine needles.
Coversations will be on view from 31 May to 10 June 2011.
