Chippa United Football Club has placed Coach Roger Sikhakhane on special leave as of 07 December 2015, amid allegations of misconduct at the Nelson Mandela Commemoration Cup match which took place on 06 December in Mthatha.
The coach has been granted up until Friday, 11 December 2015 to respond to the allegations levelled against him.
Assistant coach, Dan Malesela will step in as head coach in the interim, assisted by Head of Development & Multi Choice Diski Head Coach Floyd Mogale in preparation for the upcoming ABSA Premiership encounter against Bloemfontein Celtic on 18 December.
Chippa United fans are urged to come to the Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium on Friday, 18 December to support the Chilli Boys. Gates will open at 17:00 and kick off will be at 20:00.
The club will not comment further on this matter pending the outcome of the investigation.
Editor: Oh dear – it looks like that revolving door has not been stopped at all. Roger Sikhhakhane took up the reins for a third time in June 2015. The ‘revolving coach’ position has seen eleven changes since July 2012. Sikhakhane was coach for a four week period from 13 September 2012 to 28 October 2012 having taken over from Julius Dube who had been in the hot seat for only three weeks – not enough time to polish your boots – and then Roger was coach from 4 September 2014 to 5 January 2015, making way for Ernst Middendorp.
