Hi guys

I am Chetan Narotam, residing in PE since birth. I have been on the music scene for many years collaborating with many artists in the metro.
Music was one of my subjects in school where I learnt the Classical Guitar and Flute. My father ( Mahesh Narotam ) is also a very well known Bamboo Flute player, who started exposing me to Indian instruments and music at the same time I was learning about Western Music at school. I slowly transitioned over to Indian and Eastern Music where I began my training on the Tabla (Indian percussion drums) and have been playing since around 1994 to date. Over the years I ventured completely into fusion music where I accompanied African drummers, Western Jazz vocalists and musicians, Irish bag pipe musicians, Jazz and the list goes on and on…

My goal was to be as versatile as possible breaking the idea that different music styles cannot work together, I made it work over and over successfully. I have my own Tabla school where I teach kids from 6 yrs old up to full grown adults on the instrument, notation and how to accompany a lead instrument. I have also recently been a part of the Mahesh Narotam and Friends band who performed at the 2024 and 2022 Mandela Arts Festival, 2022 Mamela Festival, 2022 Alliance France Richmond Hill Music Festival, highlighting a few of the recent events I have been a part of.

I hope to meet like minded “out the box” thinking percussionists like myself who are able to compose ORIGINAL music and do something different. Eager to meet and colab on something unique with a bang!
