Cheeky Watson Arrest – Connect the Dots

Some of this may be smoke, some may be fire…..

Former EP rugby president Cheeky Watson along with Nadia Gerwel, Andrea Wessels, Mandisa Mkaza and Stephan Pretorius were arrested by the Hawks this morning on charges of fraud or corruption.

Lets go back to 2012 and start connecting some dots:

EP Rugby constantly battled for funds until Access Management bought/assumed the rights to ticket sales from the beleaguered union.

On 30 November 2015 NMBRA Chairperson and AfriForum Vice Chairperson, Kobus Gerber said; “As an outcome of the investigation carried out it has been discovered that ratepayers monies have been channelled through Access Management to the EP Kings.” – see: http://mype.co.za/new/nmbra-and-afriforum-taking-metro-and-access-management-to-court/56829/2015/11

On 24 November 2016 the Nelson Mandela Bay Municipality instituted legal action against two service providers, Access Facilities and Leisure Management (Pty) Ltd and Afrisec Strategic Solutions (Pty) Ltd, in order to recover allegedly misspent Metro funds and monies due to the Metro to the value of approximately R300 million.

Summons was issued out of the High Court against Access and five others on 15 November 2016. The other individual defendants included Michiel Adrian Oberholzer, Chantal Du Pisani, suspended Metro Budget and Treasury employee, Nadia Gerwel, Andrea Wessels and her company Zeranza 299 (Pty) Ltd.
