Changes is a stage production that tells the bitter experiences of the people who lived in Germany & South Africa during the turbulent and uncertain times by faced by the citizens of Germany who were separated by the Berlin wall and the people of South Africa during Apartheid.

We tell these stories not to stoke vengeance but emphasize that they were evil, however for the society to be vigilant and fight any chance of these atrocities being repeated in the furture.

Changes production in partnership between the PE Opera House and Landesbuhne Niedersachsen Nord GmbH a story that tells the tale of pre 1994 in which the uncertain times of lives of Germans and South Africans were tested. Directed by Frank Fuhrmann and stars Jeffery von Laun, Paul Lucke, Xabiso Zweni & Nobesuthu Rayi.

The play’s director Frank Fuhrmann grew up in Duisburg and studied from 1980 to 1987 teaching special schools at the University of Oldenburg. During his studies he gained acting experience in the ensemble of the Kulturetage Oldenburg and later as an actor at the “Brutstätte für Theater” in Bremen. Since 1986 he worked as a freelancer for the work “Scenic Play” at the University of Oldenburg, where he also became a lecturer from 1997. From 1990 , Frank Fuhrmann has been a drama pedagogue and director at the Junges Theater / Junge Landesbühne, where he successfully implements projects with the Jugendclub and stages professional plays. As a speaker, Frank Fuhrmann also works for the Federal Agency for Political Education.

Drama Seasons at The PE Opera House is commissioned works staged every month for a week long short run. This programme is designed to breathe life into ready productions that are produced largely by local based experts.
