TNPA’s Revised Security Protocols During Second Phase of Lockdown Period
For the second phase of the South African Lockdown period, the Transnet National Ports Authority (TNPA) has revised the security protocols within the South African Port System to allow Cargo Agents to board vessels. All other measures will remain in place.
Ernest Sigas, Executive Manager: Port Security and Compliance said; “The Cargo Agents allowed to board vessels are expected to adhere to the COVID-19 Regulations by ensuring the use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and other safety precautions deemed necessary by the TNPA and must present themselves for daily screening at the designated TNPA facilities, before entering ports or boarding vessels.”
