Calling All African Experts to Share (And Benefit)

8 December 2024 By Alan Straton

It is a known reality that, in today’s world, journalists and content writers often seek expert opinions and commentary for their articles.

Yes, it is easy enough to turn to Search Engines and AI to rehash previously published comments from experts BUT, herein lies the rub:

  1. Often those comments are from persons outside of South Africa/Africa
  2. Often those comments have no real value as they appear on many other sites
  3. When one is writing from a South African/African context it is WAY BETTER to have a ‘local’ comment
  4. Engaging with an EXPERT is one way for the writer to gain UNIQUE content and for the EXPERT to gain greater exposure for them and their industry.

In 2012 MyPR was born out of a need to find content for our web sites and the idea was simple: Create a resource that will allow Public Relations professionals to post press releases and for content hungry resources to use and republish those press releases.

Skip ahead to 2024 and in our continuing journey to put journalists and experts together we hit upon MyPR #JournoRequest.

This free service is based on the premise that we can help journalists get quotes and expert opinions from sources in the know and for the sources to get the exposure that they need.

MyPR #JournoRequest is designed to bridge the gap between journalists, content writers and industry experts. In today’s fast-paced media landscape, finding the right voice can make all the difference in delivering accurate and insightful content. MyPR #JournoRequest empowers experts to showcase their talents and connect effortlessly with journalists seeking quotes, opinions, or explanations.

  • Diverse Expertise: Our platform is a treasure trove of knowledge. From seasoned professionals in technology, healthcare, finance, to emerging voices in arts and culture, you will be able to find experts from various fields ready to share their insights.
  • User-Friendly Interface: With an intuitive design, both experts and journalists can navigate the platform with ease. Experts can create profiles highlighting their skills and experiences, while journalists can search and filter based on specific needs.
  • Real-Time Connections: Time is of the essence in journalism. We give journalists the choice to receive e-mails or phone calls.
  • Credibility and Trust: Each expert is verified, their credentials showcased with links to public profiles, providing journalists with the confidence they need to source reliable information for their stories.
  • Community Engagement: MyPR #JournoRequest is more than just a platform; it’s a community. We encourage interaction through comments and partcipation whilst distributing requests and experts listings through our Social Media and Newsletters.
  • Empowerment for Experts: By listing their talents as services, experts can not only gain visibility but also expand their networks, share their knowledge, and even monetize their expertise.

Join us at MyPR #JournoRequest, where journalists find the voices they need, and South African and African experts share their wisdom. Together, we can elevate the standards of journalism and make meaningful connections in the process!

There are two key areas:

  1. Post a Journalist Request
  2. Post an Experts Profile

You can respond to these requests in a number of ways:

  1. Reply to the email displayed – some journalists DO NOT want to have their email displayed, so you may have to…
  2. Reply in the comments section or
  3. Contact us for assistance
