Nelson Mandela Bay Business Chamber staff celebrate three PMR-africa Diamond Awards in a row.

On Friday the Nelson Mandela Bay Business Chamber added a third Diamond Arrow Award to the organisation’s trophy cabinet when it was honoured during the PMR.africa Business Leaders Function at The Plantation.

The purpose of the PMR.africa Eastern Cape Provincial Survey is to celebrate excellence in companies and institutions and set a benchmark in the province.

This year, the Nelson Mandela Bay Business Chamber was specifically recognised with a Diamond Arrow as an institution doing the most to develop and enhance the production and manufacturing of local goods and products.

In 2014 the Nelson Mandela Bay Business Chamber was recognised with the same accolade, and in 2013 received a Diamond Arrow in the category for Companies/ Institutions doing the most for economic growth and development in the province.

PMR.africa CEO Johan Hattingh described the Nelson Mandela Bay Business Chamber as “the best business chamber in the country” during the Business Leaders Function this morning.

Nelson Mandela Bay Business Chamber CEO Kevin Hustler was the keynote speaker at the awards ceremony and collected the Diamond Award on behalf of the Nelson Mandela Bay Business Chamber. His speech at the event highlighted the positive investments in the region of recent times. “This award is not about me, but the team of dedicated staff members as well as a strong, committed board and task team members who voluntary give of their time to make the organisation the best it can be,” Hustler said.

In 2011, Hustler was the only individual to receive the highest award of the annual event in recognition of his outstanding contribution to the economic growth and development of the Eastern Cape Province as a business person. He was individually recognised again in 2012.

“We would also like to commend all our members who today received awards for the top quality services and goods they offer in our region. It is evidence of the outstanding world-class businesses operating in our shores,” Hustler said.

A Diamond Arrow means a company or organization is ranked first overall in the province in its nominated category. The awards are the end result of a survey whereby CEOs, MDs, business owners, company directors, managers and senior local and provincial government officials rate nominees against specific attributes or criteria.
