Business Breakfast – Networking at it’s finest

25 November 2014 By Port Elizabethan

Friday the 21st of November saw the annual Varsity College Business Breakfast, hosted by the Career Centre and The Business School. The aim of the business breakfast was to network with both small local busiensses and national companies in order to establish a link to assist one another.

Vice Principal of Marketing, Danielle Campbell, gave a short presentation on the Career Centre and The Business School, focusing on the services offered by both departments. The Career Centre provides support to both current students and alumni in the form of a work-readiness programme and job placement in both part-time and graduate positions. The Business School offers part-time qualifications, short learning programmes and workshops to individuals in industry who needs to add to their current skill-set. Danielle then handed over to the guest speaker, Grant Driver.

Grant Driver has dedicated his life to facilitating the successes of others and works in the areas of people engagement, personal branding, inspirational leadership, communication and building a legacy. He is a sought after international speaker, strategy facilitator, workshop presenter and mentor and facilitates at over 100 international leadership, management ans sales conferences annually. Grant Driver’s presentation focused on leadership in the 21st century with specific focus on Generation Y who are currently entering the job market, as well as the up and coming Generation X.

Grant’s sppech was given a resounding hand of applause and guests commented on how they were given a lot of useful tips that re-inspired them to become great leaders.

In the spirit of networking, many new contacts were made and all left feeling as if they had taken something of great value with them. This in turn made the business breakfast a great success.
