Bieber fever hits the Bay

(Port Elizabeth) – “Bieber fever” is gripping the country as global pop icon Justin Bieber brings his Purpose World Tour to South Africa this month and fans are clamouring for scarce tickets.

Answering the Bieber call is Baywest Mall, which, as part of its second birthday celebrations this month, is giving shoppers the chance to see the “What do you mean?” hitmaker live in concert in Cape Town on May 17.

Baywest Mall marketing manager Christopher Hutchings said the competition giveaway, which is being held in conjunction with the Flight Centre store at Baywest, was perfectly timed to coincide with the shopping centre’s second birthday on May 21.

“Baywest turns two this month, and in celebrating this early milestone, we have found a prize that appeals to the young – and the young at heart! It is doubly fitting, because we’ve established our presence as a major entertainment and shopping destination during this time.”

First prize in the competition includes double concert tickets, return airfares and accommodation for two people plus Soda Bloc clothing and East Coast Tattoos vouchers to the value of R1000 each.

The runner-up will receive a pair of concert tickets and vouchers from Soda Bloc and East Coast Tattoos worth R500 each.

Unlike Bieber’s hit song title, the competition would not be decided on an “Eenie Meenie Miney Mo” basis, said Hutchings.

To enter, shoppers must get an entry form from one of Baywest Mall’s six participating retailers – Soda Bloc, East Coast Tattoos, Timberland, Superga, Factorie or G-Star raw.

“All you need to do is fill in your details, answer two very easy questions and drop the form into the entry box in the Flight Centre store before 7pm on Tuesday (May 9),” explained Hutchings.

The draw will take place on Wednesday (May 10) and the winners will be announced later that same day to allow sufficient time to plan and book their trip.
