One of the more interesting PE related old images that popped up on the #portelizabeth page recently was this one of Howard Mapplebeck, family and friends, Port Elizabeth, 1886. Howard Mapplebeck (1847-1909) with family and friends, Emerald Hill, Port Elizabeth, South Africa, 1886. Howard is in white with pith helmet. His daughter Sybil (1875-1955) and son Sydney (1877-1904) stand beside him, with nanny Marie behind.
The BD Collection is primarily of 19th and early 20th century portraits and other historical photographs associated with the Bensted and Day families.
