Although Nelson Mandela Bay’s soccer hope, Bay Stars, will be clashing with tough competition on Saturday in pursuit of competing in the Nedbank Cup, hard work behind the scenes led to the opening of its brand new website at midnight on Friday 4 November.
This means that supporters will be kept up to date on new developments in the club by visiting www.baystars.co.za (Editor’s Note: Don’t get caught like me and assume that the site is live right now. But, if I stay up until the midnight launch I am guaranteed to be grumpy tomorrow!), designed by Adrap Advertising and Technologies, as the club implements its plan to compete in the top echelons of South African soccer. This welcome resource will be in addition to the informative official facebook page of the club.
Potential supporters will have the opportunity to view player profiles, new developments, results and see the upcoming fixtures awaiting this local outfit, who can truly claim to be targeting the cream of the football crop in Nelson Mandela Bay with persistent scouting.
On Saturday, a soccer bonanza awaits visitors to the Gelvandale Stadium as three tough matches will be played from 9:00 am.
Firstly Highbury FC will be taking on Cacadu United and our very own Bay Stars will show their mettle against Vodacom League log leaders FC Buffalo at 11:00 am. The winners of these matches will take to the field at 4:00 pm and play for another chance to compete during the weekend of November 25 and 26 for inclusion in the Nedbank Cup.
Mr Tony Lovegrove, Managing Director of Bay Stars, said supporters are welcome to pack their picnic baskets and come and enjoy a day of football fun. Entry to the top class facility is free.
Coach Graham Harrison’s charges managed to account well for themselves in the Vodacom League thus far with victories over Matta Milan, Cacadu United and OR Tambo and managed to draw against Kokstad Liverpool in Kokstad.
