Broad-based black economic empowerment (B-BBEE) is an aspect of business that has to be complied with. However, many struggle with creating an integrated point of reference for their B-BBEE engagements.
Global Business Solutions has seen this challenge and, as a result, has developed the B-BBEE Manager. This web-based app allows companies the opportunity to capture their B-BBEE-related data and to generate a scorecard based on their inputs. This app is particularly useful for small businesses who need to determine their B-BBEE status for tender work however they do not have the resources to verify this in the usual manner. The B-BBEE Manager facilitates the process for them.
“This first phase of the B-BBEE Manager,” says Richard Ryding: Head of the B-BBEE Consulting Division at Global Business Solutions, “will allow company stakeholders the opportunity to determine what the organisation’s progress is towards compliance against their objectives. In addition, the app allows organisations to plan how they can increase their B-BBEE levels.”
When you log into the B-BBEE Manager, the app will prompt you to enter details such as the following.
This is so that it can generate a B-BBEE scorecard for your business:
- B-BBEE Summary, Employment Equity, Management and Ownership Information,
- The amount you pay towards your Skills Development Levy, enterprise and supplier development, and
- The Total Measurable Procurement Spend as well as other details such as the amounts spent on preferential procurement and supplier development.
Your targets and input will display the actuals in relation to the targeted numbers. For more information on how to get access to this app, content Carly de Lange on carly@globalbusiness.co.za or 041 364 0472.
