Police are on the lookout for more than three suspects who attacked police whilst they were attending to a business burglary complaint at Mabuza Bar Lounge at Tonga this morning.
Police responded to a complaint where a suspicious looking person was seen within the business premises at about 01:00 on Monday November 08, 2021.
On their arrival, three suspects, one armed with a rifle and the other two with hand guns fired several shots to the direction of the police.
Police retaliated and gun shots were exchanged.
Few minutes later the suspects retreated, and when police gained entrance to the premises, they realised that the wall was broken.
Some equipment that are suspected to have been used, including the grinder were found on the scene.
Some blood stains were also seen in the guard house where suspects took cover.
The blood was also seen on their escape gate.
No member sustained any gun shot and it is believed one or more suspects were injured during the shootout.
Police request assistance so that anyone who might have been admitted to any hospital with gunshot wounds to be reported to the police for further investigation.
An attempted murder and Business Buglary cases were registered.
