Armourers Anonymous

Armourers Anonymous, a unique book written by Willie Burger and Boff van Zyl, available in English & Afrikaans is now on sale from the Friends of the Port Elizabeth SAAF Museum. It covers most of weapons used in the SAAF except nuclear or atomic weapons. It is a very easy read with many fun stories of his past.

Proceeds from the sale of the book will be used for PE SAAF Museum displays.

Armourers Anonymous provides an informative glimpse into the evolution of aircraft armament, describes the SAAF armourers role and is punctuated with hilarious situations that occured during Willie’s career as an armourer such as the time he conned two captains to shout at each other telling them each that the captain they were about to meet was hard of hearing.

Direct purchase from Friends of Port Elizabeth Museum is possible at R150.00 each. Including Packaging and Postage via registered post to any location in South Africa will cost R180.00.

Orders may be sent to Brian Anderssen: brianea@telkomsa.net.

Passionate about Port Elizabeth and definitely NOT packing for Perth. Alan's ethos is epitomised in the words of Nelson Mandela; "I have fought against white domination and I have fought against black domination. I have cherished the idea of a democratic and free society. If need be, it is an ideal for which I am prepared to die." See more articles by Alan.
