And all I hear is recorded voices

7 July 2013 By Port Elizabethan

Hi Alan,

Re the municipal light accounts, I also did not receive the May account and so far the current account has not arrived either.

All very well them telling us to ring a number, no one has the time to sit on the phone for ages listening to one message after another and getting no where. Incompetence at its best.

Regards

Priscilla

Editor: Priscilla – the Nelson Mandela Bay Municipality advised these further steps that you can take to try to establish your balance:

OPTION 1:

  • SMS the following number: 31151
  • Then type in the three letters Acc, leave a space, type in your 12 digit municipal account number without leaving any spaces between the digits, then leave a space after the 12 digit municipal account number and type in bal – i.e. Acc 600000000000 bal. Alternatively, to receive your balance via fax, type in the following cell message: Acc 600000000000 fax 0410000000 (can be fax-2-email number as well)

OPTION 2: Telephonic enquiries:

  • Dial 041 506 5533 for account balances.
  • To receive your statements or documents by fax, dial 041 506 5537.

Note that these are voice prompt options, and that there is no interaction with a Call Centre Agent.

The Municipality trusts that these number will be useful to account holders and reminds them that balance enquiries can also be made at all municipal customer care centres.
