The strongest Ironman professional field ever assembled will line up for the Standard Bank Ironman African Championship in Nelson Mandela Bay on Sunday.
The newly acquired championship status of the event has raised the stakes in terms of professional participation as the winner not only gets the coverted title but will also qualify for the Ironman World Championship in Kona Hawaii in October.
