Excited fans gathered at the Greenacres Shopping mall from early this morning to secure their chance to pose with the AFCON Cup Trophy alongside ex Bafana Bafana players, Neil ‘Mokoko’ Tovey and Brian ‘Spiderman’ Baloyi. Tovey played in the 1996 winning Africa Cup of Nations team of 1996 and Baloyi was part of the 1998 runner up team..
In a good news note for Port Elizabeth, Brian Baloyi reckons that Ghana has the most talented squad right now with a good combination of talent, experience and age making them hot favourites to lift the title. The teams from Ghana, DRC, Niger and Mali will all be based in Port Elizabeth for the 2013 Afcon Cup.
