Proceeds from the ADAM concert in Port Elizabeth on December 23 will go towards helping the Pearson Boys first hockey squad to raise their game through playing in Europe.
It will be the first time that Port Elizabeth fans will see the band with Christoff de Beer, who has replaced Joe Foster.
The tour will “expand the boys’ borders in terms of the different styles of play and raise the level of hockey at the school,” says coach Michael van Rensburg.
It will help the 18 young players to “follow the global trends,” and to go on to play at national level and represent their country, he says.
Most of the touring party will be made up of players from the 2013 under 16 squad, which came third in the South African School Sports Championship played in Bloemfontein earlier this year.
They are currently the top under 16 boys’ team in the Eastern Cape.
They will be leaving Port Elizabeth on March 31, and returning on April 12 after their multi-country tour.
Pearson hockey supporters decided to raise funds for the tour by bringing the popular ADAM group back to Port Elizabeth.
They will be performing at The Boardwalk’s Vodacom Amphitheatre on Monday, December 23 from seven in the evening.
All three members are individual artists in their own right.
The other two band members are Hugo Ludik and Reynhardt Hugo.
ADAM will be singing songs from their debut album which was released during the KKNK with no less than fifteen major performances on RSG, Die Burger and Absa stages with songs played on National radio stations across South Africa.
Tickets for the show can be purchased from Computicket at R100.00 each.
