On 22/08/2024 achmat voted Yes in our poll on ending punitive water tariffs.
Achmat Says:
I am battling to keep up with my municipal accounts because it is difficult with to keep my consumption below the recommended usage with 10 occupants on my property. The electricity tarrifs is already killing me now still the high water bills as well. I think the municipality has milked us long enough and it is time to stop.

On 12 December 2024 the NMB ended the Punitive Water Tariffs. Thank you to all who voted and put pressure on the Muni to end these tariffs.
All responses are also submitted to the Nelson Mandela Bay Municipality and Director of Water.
