A Night at the Opera

The Savoy Theatre, is to be found on the Corner of Stirk & Colett Sts, Adcockvale, Ward 7, Gqeberha, South Africa

A Night at the Opera is directed & conducted by Akhona Nkumanda with accompanist: Jabu Ngowebo.

This Operatic feast is the brain child of Akhona Nkumanda who has put together a number of opera choruses, duets, trios and solos under the theme ~ Love and War. This show will be staged at the Savoy and is set in 2 Acts.

Act 1 takes us through a series of Opera extracts, where men prepare and leave for war. The flaws of these romantic relationships are highlighted in this act, with the despairing undertones of sadness.

In Act 2 the show is set in a ball where the actual fights and commotions take place, where the heavy hearts are laid bare and wins are celebrated.

The cast consists mostly of members from the Nelson Mandela Bay Municipality Townships who have achieved celebrity status in the world of Opera and performed in big Opera Productions on stages around the country.
