A gun and a suicide note have been found on the smallholding where the body of author Mark Minnie was discovered last night.
Police say the weapon did not belong to Minnie. Minnie is the co-author of the controversial book: The Lost Boys of Bird Island.
The book implicates a prominent businessman and two former National Party ministers, including Magnus Malan, as central figures in an alleged pedophilia ring that operated during the apartheid era.
The book alleges the trio molested and raped minors at Bird Island off the coast of Port Elizabeth. Minnie’s body was found on a friend’s smallholding in Theescombe outside Port Elizabeth.
