KURUMAN – In support of the 16 Days of activism campaign the Kuruman Family Violence, Child Protection and Sexual Offenses unit in collaboration with the Department of Transport, Safety and Liaison, Department of Social Development and Department of Education hosted a multi-disciplinary awareness programme.
The programme was held today at the Kuruman Taxi Rank during which topics such as gender-based violence, femicide and rights of the community in general were addressed.
The team also distributed safety hint pamphlets and the community made posters and placards to create awareness around the mentioned topics.
The speakers from the different departments and relevant stakeholders elaborated on the importance of helping each other to overcome these social ills.
The outreach was done under the 16 Days of Activism theme: “The Year of Charlotte Mannya Maxeke – 16 Days of Activism – moving from awareness to accountability.”
