As part of their quality assurance regime Volkswagen tests the reaction time and effectiveness of their vehicle’s air bag installations in-house.
The coolest job must be pushing the button to activate the air bag deployment – makes me think about the fact that many insurers will not repair a vehicle that has had air bags deployed as it is ‘too expensive’!
So we slowed this video down to 2% of the original frame rate and the bag still pops up very quickly.
