Gqeberha – August 2023: A worrying concern for most purchasers of Solar Systems is what type of backup and support they will get if their chosen equipment malfunctions or is damaged in an accident.
For most Solar PV equipment – inverters/batteries/panels that has meant getting your installer to package the faulty equipment and send it off to a ‘major’ centre such as Johannesburg, Durban or Cape Town.
The most frustrating problem for clents has been the wait as equipment is couriered to the technical centre, assessed, replaced and sent back.
When the equipment is out of warranty or the technical centre deems that the fault was due to human error then the back and forth of quotations from an unfamiliar business also serves to further delay getting clients back online and producing electricity.
Sunsynk identified that they needed a technical support center in Nelson Mandela Bay and appointed Straton Solar with a head office in Gqeberha, to do the support on behalf of local suppliers and installers.
