Thomas Ferreira Designs is an architectural and project management company delivering a professional “hands on” service to our clients at very reasonable prices. TFD design and prepare preliminary sketches while working closely with Civil/Structural Engineers and Consultants. We prepare working drawings for city approval and submit drawings to the local authority.
Having completed a National Diploma in Architecture, at the Nelson Mandela Metropolitan University [NMMU], Port Elizabeth, South Africa Thomas Lodewyk Ferreira (PrSArchT), holds registration no. ST0938 with the South African Council for the Architectural Profession.
TFD have completed hundreds of projects – custom-designed homes, additions and alterations which include:
- Various retail and commercial buildings.
- Various residential complexes, for example, a 16 Unit Beverly Grove townhouse complex, a CShell 40 unit apartment complex, Dataforce 10 unit apartment complex, Abbacor 18 unit apartment complex, Sunbrook 10 unit apartment complex, Tuscany Hill townhouses, 12 Unit apartment complex, 13 unit apartment complex, 30 unit apartment complex, Stadium Hotel complex just to name a few….

In order to be able to obtain a valid working permit in the USA Thomas had to prove that his education and working experience were equal to the strict architectural standards maintained in that country. After all documentation was scrutinised by various Architectural professionals a working permit was granted to me, I accepted a position at Leslie Lippich Architects & Associates as a Project Architect responsible for design, co-ordinating of working drawings and client liaison. I was involved in all facets of architectural work from preliminary to city approval stage. I worked with engineers and consultants on a day to day basis.
