Manhunt for four suspects in E Cape

National Police Commissioner Khehla Sitole has ordered an immediate manhunt for the suspects of the senseless killing of a Constable in Coffee Bay in the Eastern Cape on Tuesday night. Two constables, who were attending to a complaint at Zindidi Location in Coffee Bay shortly before midnight, were approached by four men under the pretext that they were seeking help. Two of the four men approached the police vehicle on the driver's side while the other two approached the vehicle from the passenger’s side. PORT ELIZABETH - The concerted efforts of our members in stamping the authority of the State by removing illegal and stolen firearms is proving to be successful as 4 firearms, 2 replica firearms and a replica gas pistol were recovered from criminals in just one day. On Friday, 22 November 2019 at about 09:45, Anti-Gang Unit (AGU) members executed a search warrant at a house in Siwa Street in Kwazakele. PORT ELIZABETH - Members of PE K9 Unit arrested a 21-year-old alleged gang affiliate and confiscated a stolen firearm after they responded to a complaint of shooting in West End in Bethelsdorp. It is alleged that at about 20:00, the members stopped in West End when they noticed a person running in behind Varsvlei swimming pool. After several warnings to stop, police dog ‘Bentley’ was released and he apprehended the suspect. A 9mm Lugar was recovered. Bethesldorp Police Seek Assistance

Police in Bethesldorp are seeking the community’s assistance in tracing the next of kin of an unidentified man found on Sunday, 20/10. According to police information, the body was found at about 06:00 in an open field in Lee Samuels Street in Ext 36 in Bethelsdorp. The male approximately 35-year-old was badly burnt. At this stage the circumstances surrounding the incident are not known and police are investigating a case of murder. In less than a month, a robbery accused was arrested, found guilty and sentenced in the Port Elizabeth Regional court. On 7 October 2019 at 17:00, the 37-year-old complainant was walking in Armeria Crescent in Ext 30 in Bethelsdorp with her son when the accused Lucaine Coetzee approached them with a knife. Eastern Cape Police have warned the Uitenhage community to guard against physically picking up or handing any strange/foreign objects that they recover at the Strelitzia Dam. PORT ELIZABETH - Gelvandale Police have opened an inquest docket after the body of a 48-year-old man was found with multiple dog bites in Armstrong Street, Malabar. PORT ELIZABETH - The combatting of serious and violent crimes in the Northern areas of Port Elizabeth is dependent on the confiscation and seizure of illegal firearms.
