The Central SRA will be legally instituted on 1 July 2020, and will in all likelihood start receiving funds from the Municipality by 1 October 2020.
As a first step to the formation of the Central SRA the required 51% approval from property owners in Central to proceed with the additional rating levy of 12%, which will be collected from all rateable property owners in the demarcated area was granted. This leevy will be collected as from from 1 July 2020. The funds generated will be used for the overall upliftment of the area, with the aim to make the Central area safer, cleaner and also attract much needed development and improvement. The Central SRA interim committee have been mapping out a vision for Central and key strategies to achieve this vision.
The Central SRA is now calling on all property owners within its boundaries to apply for membership to the Central SRA company reg number: 2016/509051/08. As a registered Non-Profit Organisation, the members are the ultimate stakeholders of the company and responsible for appointing the Board of Directors to manage the operational activities of the Central SRA.
Members will be required to attend, discuss, and vote on resolutions of the Company at member meetings in order to give effect to the mandate of the Central SRA.
Following this call for Membership Applications the Central SRA will notify members on holde the Central SRA AGM on 9 March 2020 where a Board of Directors will be elected by Members
The Directors will then become responsible for control and disbursement of funds to the benefit of the Central SRA.
