The Petrolhead Paradise Moto Show is once again set to rip up the tarmac in Nelson Mandela Bay over the weekend of 14 to 17 June at Moffett on Main Lifestyle Shopping Centre claiming Nelson Mandela Bay’s history as the “Detroit” of the Motor Industry. Whilst Durban celebrates Top Gear Festival SA, we as a city and community will be celebrating the motor industry by showing off our industry’s standards, our locally produced products and acknowledging our car owners enthusiasm towards their vehicle; be it exotic, vintage or concept and plat forming the ingenuity of what is available in Nelson Mandela Bay professionally when it comes to pimping out your wheels old or new!
Business opportunities and community play a big part of the Petrolhead Paradise Moto Show and 2013 has seen a permanent underground F1 Go Karting facility been setup in the basement of Moffett on Main Lifestyle Centre. The F1 Go-Karting arena will be launching the facilities at the opening of the show on the 14 June.
The Petrolhead Paradise Moto Show is committed to building up and helping the community, this year the race is on to help St Francis Hospice and the organisers in association with Moffett on Main Lifestyle Centre are running the Father’s day Competition to raise funds for St Francis Hospice. Fathers and their siblings are invited to come down to Moffett on Main on Saturday 8th and 15th June ready to rev it up in favourite racing gear or colours between 11h00 and 13h00 and have their photo taken for R20 and all proceeds raised will be handed over to St Francis Hospice. Over and above the Father’s day support for St Francis Hospice the Saturday and Sunday park offs with the Mainstream Crew will also be donating R10 per car to the campaign. The top three winning photos will walk away with great prizes. Other charities that the event is supporting this year on the floor is the ECO-Brick foundation in Walmer Township, SAMREC and I Wear Red Socks on Fridays that supports partially hearing children in Nelson Mandela Bay.
The weekend is filled with loads of entertainment for the whole family on and off the floor. The weekend break away activities include stock car experiences at Victory Raceway and 4 x 4 experiences at Eastern Cape Motors in William Moffett Express Way. Father’s day will be celebrated in style with brandy and cognac tasting in Millionaires Boy Club as well as a Comedy Show in the evening with Roland Gaspar where we will be reminded of how we have ruled the bends and bent the rules in the “Limited but not Unlimited 2013 Torque Show”.
