The Springbok squad arrived in Port Elizabeth on Tuesday morning to start with their preparations for the Castle Lager Rugby Championship Test on 19 August against Argentina in the Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium.
Local supporters in the Eastern Cape will get a unique opportunity to see the Boks in action when the full squad will take part in a live training session on Wednesday afternoon at the Gelvandale Stadium. The field session is open to the public and media and starts at 15h00 and as an added bonus, the entire squad will also participate in a brief signing session immediately after training.
The #LoveRugby event is one of several activities planned for the Friendly City over the next two weeks in the build-up towards the Springboks’ first Castle Lager Rugby Championship Test against Argentina on 19 August at the Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium.
Meanwhile, two female members of the Springbok management staff, Annelee Murray (PR Manager) and Tanu Pillay (physiotherapist), will be interviewed on the Algoa FM breakfast show on Wednesday morning as part of the city’s Women’s Month celebrations.
On Saturday morning, Springbok coach Allister Coetzee and selected players will be hoisting a gigantic flag at the Donkin Reserve as part of the SA Rugby #2023 RWC bid awareness campaign.
