Port Elizabeth played host to the Spec-Savers PRO 10 Pairs bowls tournament over this past weekend.
This new format of the game is very different to the normal game of bowls as it is a faster more furious game played over 10 ends and is 2 bowl pairs. One game lasts about 45 minutes.
The organising committee consisted of: Rob Steward, John Kapp, Annette Herselman, Jeanette Williams & Peter Wildman
National bowlers descended on out fair city to battle it out and the winners were:
- Gold: Maggie van Zyl & Lydia Maritz from Western Province
- Silver: Shane Gobey & Peter Hufkie from Eastern Province
- Bronze shared: Jason Evans & Gerry Baker from Johannesburg Bowling Association tie with Bruno Belotti & Colin White from Northern Free State
