Ahead of the 8 May National Elections you would do well to acquaint yourself with the Political Parties registered on the National level for the elections.
Today we introduce you to: South African Maintenance And Estate Beneficiaries Association – SAMEBA
Sameba, led by president Makgorometse Gift Makhaba, contested the 2014 national elections as well, but appears to have won so few votes that it is not listed in the official IEC results for that year. It recently (unsuccessfully) contested a by-election in Limpopo, but that’s about as much as we can tell you. Sameba has a very limited online presence and it appears that every media instance knows exactly the same about the party…. i.e. NOTHING!
SAMEBA’s platform is made up of two main elements; child maintenance and beneficiaries of estates.
This information is gathered from the IEC and the above party website or publicly available documents.

EDITOR: Conspiracy theorists might get off on knowing that SAMEBA is also the The Holy Trinity Cathedral of Tbilisi – commonly known as Sameba. It is the main cathedral of the Georgian Orthodox Church located in Tbilisi, the capital of Georgia. Constructed between 1995 and 2004, it is the third-tallest Eastern Orthodox cathedral in the world and one of the largest religious buildings in the world by total area. Sameba is a synthesis of traditional styles dominating the Georgian church architecture at various stages in history and has some Byzantine undertones.
During 2018 Chairman of the Parliament Irakli Kobhakidze, in the wake of a Sunday mass service held in the Holy Trinity Cathedral – Sameba, told journalists on 16 September that the Georgian Dream political party would not rush to pass a bill which would legalise the cultivation of marijuana for export purposes without first holding consultations with the Patriarchate of the curch, Ilia II, the Catholicos-Patriarch of Georgia, who had objected to the bill during a sermon.
