Something Good serves a great range of vegetarian choices of old fashioned favourites like pizzas, salads and wraps. We also serve a wide selection of vegetarian snack items on the menu. Our veggie burgers are definitely one of our top sellers at the roadhouse.
Strict Vegans can enjoy a number of vegetarian options that can be modified into a vegan treat by removing an item or two from the ingredients. Due to the fact that we are a roadhouse, we do not often get many requests for vegan meals, but we always aim to please our customers with something special from our kitchen. We also offer a great selection of vegan smoothies to fill the gap.
Around a quarter of the dishes on the menu are considered to be vegetarian options, but there are many items on the menu that patrons can adjust to customize the meal to suit their specific dietary requirements without compromising on taste or flavour. Some of the most well liked dishes on our menu are vegetarian, with the most popular diner’s choice definitely being the bun-less veggie burger. It is a homemade bean and nut patty with basil aioli, topped with halloumi, grilled bell peppers and avocado and served with chips or a side salad.
Asked about the concerns from vegetarian diners regarding ‘cross contamination’, Dianne said; “The kitchen has various stations and passes where different food types are independently handled.”
There are many different diets followed by people who don’t eat meat, ranging from a ‘mild’ form, to strict vegan that will not eat any animal products of any kind at all. This presents challenges in terms of staff being able to define if a restaurant’s offering will satisfy the diner, so we asked Dianne how staff from Something Good Roadhouse help the diner define their ‘eating niche’?
“Our chef, Lisa Scheepers, is very friendly and approachable and will happily meet with niche customers to satisfy their requirements.” said Dianne.
Are diners welcome to visit Something Good Roadhouse’s kitchen? The kitchen at Something Good Roadhouse has very strict hygiene and safety controls which do not allow staff behind certain areas without the necessary safety requirements, but diners are welcome to pop in to the kitchen at any time to say hi.
Something Good Roadhouse has always offered an assortment of dining styles, where customers can choose their favourite meal from our ever-changing menu. Our chef is always mixing things up to make sure that we give our regulars something new to look forward to. We have a lot of “omnivores” that enjoy our vegetarian options too, so there has been no noticeable growth or increase in vegetarian request that our staff are aware of.
Dianne invites diners to experience Something Good Roadhouse saying; “We ascribe the success of our roadhouse to our friendly service and a scrumptious selection of value for money food that can be enjoyed alongside the magnificent view of Pollock beach.”
