Award winning South African comedian, Skhumba Hlophe brings his sellout show, Skhumba Hlophe Live…#JustForKontrol to The Boardwalk on 19 May 2018. This show, his third one man production, is his most successful to date, selling out in Cape Town, Durban, Rustenburg and at Sun International’s Carnival City in Gauteng in 2017. Now it is Port Elizabeth’s turn to see what all the fuss is about. Tickets are selling fast at Computicket and Shoprite. Fans are urged to be swift about booking their seats at this one night only show at The Boardwalk.
Hlophe flying high after winning two Savannah Comics Choice Awards: the 2017 Comic of the Year and the Flying Solo award. This all comes after selling out shows across the country with his second one man show #1stOfAll show.
Hlophe finds his inspiration for his material everywhere “As long as I am alive I will never run out of things to talk about”.
He boasts a strong and growing career following performances at various venues in Gauteng that include Blacks Only, Soweto Comedy Festival, Tshwane Comedy Festival, 99% Xhosa Comedy show and his very own Skhumba & Friends.
Hlophe is one of the most gifted comedians in the country. He holds his audiences in the palm of his hands on Kaya FM’s Breakfast Show, which he hosts with Ndumiso Ngcobo, every Friday morning from 06h00 until 09h00.
In 2017, Skhumba’s hard work earned him four nominations in the Savanna Comics Choice Awards. This made him the first comedian in South Africa to have had a total of eight nominations in a space of just two years. He’s also selflessly donated wheelchairs to people in need in the Gauteng in 2016 and 2017.
Tickets to his show at The Boardwalk are R150 each via Computicket and Shoprite. The show kicks off at 20h00.
