Are we mad, are we being manipulated or does someone know something that we don’t?
The influenza epidemic that swept the world in 1918 killed an estimated 50 million people. One fifth of the world’s population was attacked by this deadly virus. Within months, it had killed more people than any other illness in recorded history.
The plague emerged in two phases. In late spring of 1918, the first phase, known as the “three-day fever,” appeared without warning. Few deaths were reported. Victims recovered after a few days. When the disease surfaced again that autumn, it was far more severe. Scientists, doctors, and health officials could not identify this disease which was striking so fast and so viciously, eluding treatment and defying control. Some victims died within hours of their first symptoms. Others succumbed after a few days – their lungs filled with fluid as they suffocated to death.
Various articles claim the that percentage of deaths from the 1918/19 influenza epidemic were from 5% to 20% of the world’s population.
If we take the lower end of 5% and say that that is the number of deaths we can expect from COVID-19 then we are looking at an expected number of 390 Million deaths from COVID-19 – based on a world population of just on 7.8 Billion.
At present there are 87 137 confirmed cases and 2 977 deaths from COVID-19
And we are shutting down countries and events over this threat?
