As they say; “It is hell in Africa, but someone has to do it!”
The Longhair and I are on the Wild Coast at a resort that we first discovered this past month – Miarestate Hotel & Spa.
Readers of my vintage will remember family trips to Haga Haga and Miarestate is on that road to Haga Haga outside East London.
Before we arrived I did a bit of online stalking to see what people on Trip Advisor had been saying. An overall excellent rating from 22 travellers and a review titled “Eastern Cape’s Hidden Treasure” by Level One contributor, Pilvi07 from Johannesburg, was all we needed to get those excitement juices flowing
The review said; “My husband and I stayed for five nights early December 2015 and it was amazing!!! It is truly a beautiful and magnificent place to visit. Everyone is willing to assist and pays attention to detail, from the butler, waiters, chef and the Game Ranger. We particularly loved the beach picnic, the spa and food. They even went to great efforts in organizing a amazing surprise private birthday dinner for my husband. We are definitely coming back with more friends and family.”
