To be successful in business today one has to be able to think laterally – or out of the box. This is particularly true of small businesses in the Eastern Cape, says specialist trainer Maureen Crangle.
She will be presenting a free workshop on lateral thinking at the Propella Futuremakers Hub in Humerail.
This workshop will enable participants to begin to develop the lateral thinking skills necessary to be effective, relevant and competitive in today’s economy, she says.
“This workshop will not be like other workshops hosted at the Propella Futuremakers Hub. It will help attendees to explore their creative side and will be an interactive workshop,” says Business Support Manager Ellen Fischat.
Workshop attendees can look forward to exploring their creative “inner child” through play, interactive exercises, role playing, music/video clips and storytelling.
“We learn how to think beyond the known and explore possibilities to best problem-solve, create opportunities and innovate” says Crangle.
Attendees will leave the workshop with a renewed mind set, the courage to let go of certainties and embrace possibilities and the confidence to develop and use their lateral thinking ability to succeed in business, she promises.
Crangle has over 27 years Corporate experience, 13 of which were gained in her own business – Maureen Crangle & Associates. She has a BA (Hons) in Clinical Psychology from UNISA, and a BA in Psychology & Sociology from NMMU.
She is also a registered Assessor with MerSeta (Manufacturing, Engineering and Related Services) and a specialist in training, facilitation and recruitment.
The Lateral Thinking workshop will be hosted at Propella Futuremakers Hub on Wednesday, April 20 from nine till noon.
