Coca-Cola Beverages South Africa (CCBSA) gathered employees to participate in the FoodForward SA Mandela Day Food Drive Packing events on Mandela Day, 18 July 2019. “Mandela Day inspires us to go over and above our usual corporate social investment (CSI) initiatives and to celebrate Madiba’s life and legacy,” says Nolundi Mzimba – CCBSA Regional Public Affairs and Communications Manager. “In our commitment to the fight against poverty, CCBSA gathered employees to take part the FoodForward SA Mandela Day Food Drive Packing events in Durban and Port Elizabeth (PE) on Mandela Day,” she adds.
“FoodForwardSA held our third annual Mandela Day Food Drive in partnership with Pick n Pay this year, which supports 530 beneficiary organisations in our national distribution network,” says Andy Du Plessis – Managing Director for FoodForward SA.
“CCBSA was proud to be a part of this national initiative and to work together at the packing events with other corporates and volunteers to create a positive impact,” Mzimba concludes.
CCBSA will implement more CSI initiatives during the month of July to honour Mandela’s life’s work and to change the world for the better. These include gathering employees to help renovate two beneficiary centres; namely Uviwe Child & Youth Services in PE in the Eastern Cape Province and Landulwazi Educare Centre in Grabouw in the Western Cape Province on 18 on 22 July respectively; as well as rallying employees for a river clean-up in Msunduze River in the KZN Province on 29 July.
