Few Changes to team to face Namibia

6 September 2019 By //  by Alan Straton Leave a Comment

The Isuzu Southern Kings have named their 25-man squad that will take on Namibia in their second warm-up match on Saturday.

The two sides played in the first clash in Windhoek last week, and will once again square up against each other, this time at Walvis Bay High School. Kick-off for the match will be at 15h00.

Interim Head Coach, Robbi Kempson, has made a few changes to the team that will be captained by lock, JC Astle, while scrumhalf, Stefan Ungerer will be vice-captain.

Some of the changes will see the versatile Bobby de Wee, who started at No4 lock last week, shifting to openside flanker where he replaces Thembelani Bholi who will be on the bench this week.

The half-back pairing of Ungerer at No9 and Demetri Catrakilis at flyhalf will once again, like in the match against Georgia a fortnight ago, start the match. Last week’s two-time try-scorer, JT Jackson, who had played on the wing, will get a start at outside centre alongside No12 Howard Mnisi. Christopher Hollis also returns to the side at right wing, while Masixole Banda will be the starting XV.

The Isuzu Southern Kings team to face Namibia is:

Forwards (1-8): Lupumlo Mguca, Alandre van Rooyen, Pieter Scholtz, Aston Fortuin, JC Astle, Henry Brown, Bobby de Wee, Tienie Burger.

Backline (9-15): Stefan Ungerer, Demetri Catrakilis, Josiah Twum-Boafo, Howard Mnisi, JT Jackson, Christopher Hollis, Masixole Banda.

Replacements: Chad Solomon, Xandre Vos, Rossouw de Klerk, Elrigh Louw, Thembelani Bholi, Josh Allderman, Bader Pretorius, Courtney Winnaar, Aaron Brody, Ig Prinsloo.
