The popular About IT Triathlon Summer Series, comprising of 4 race days, kicks off this Saturday morning at Pollok Beach with a large contingent of social triathletes anticipated to attend.
This annual Sprint Distance triathlon Series will be taking place on the 16th, 20th and 23rd December in Port Elizabeth and on the 26th December in Port St Francis offering the ideal training for both seasoned and novice triathletes. Consisting of a 750m swim, 20km cycle and 5km run, the Series is open to both individuals or teams (can be 2 people or 3 people). Online registration per race is recommended on www.trisummerseries.co.za as on the day entries include a R50 late entry fee.
The 2017 About IT Triathlon Summer Series is supported by Caltex Eastern Cape, Blusmooth wetsuits, Action Cycles, Score Energy Drink, Oracle Media with R7,500 cash and medals up for grabs for the overall Series winners and a R10,000 bicycle lucky draw prize courtesy of Action Cycles also included in the mix.
Finishers medals at each of the 4 races with the Port Elizabeth races starting at 8am and the Port St Francis race at 8.30am.
Defending Series champion Keegan Cooke will be expected to be the one to watch together with Ladies Nelson Mandela Bay Triathlon Champion Claudia Harcus and top triathlete Antonella Saporta. Another exciting personality expected to attend will be Port Elizabeth‘s World disabled triathlon champion, Charl Parkin, who is excelling in the sport which he only became involved with earlier in the year.
