Marketing and Communications in the Eastern Cape has taken a leap forward with the formation of the area’s first Marketing Executive Forum (MXF). The forum has been formed as a result of a need for a body in the Eastern Cape that arose from countless requests from Marketing and Communications professionals. The MXF mission is to create a platform for marketing professionals in various industries in the Eastern Cape to be inspired, to grow and discuss topics relevant to the industry. The forum will host XTALKS, regular events featuring carefully selected top industry professionals from around the country who will present on exciting topics and case studies. The forum has been established with the aim of raising the bar on marketing in the Eastern Cape and inspiring marketers in the area.
Currently the board members include Neil Hart – Managing Director of Boomtown Strategic Brand Agency, Pieter Swart – Director of Marketing and Corporate Relations at NMMU, Dave Tiltmann – Managing Director of Algoa FM, Jane Stevenson – owner of Jane Stevenson & Associates, and Reza Ebrahim – Dealer Principal, East Cape Fiat and Alfa Romeo. These innovative minds will join together to ensure that the forum continues to grow marketing and bring together insightful marketing minds in the Eastern Cape.
Marketing forum members will not only receive industry insights from top professionals, but will be kept informed of the latest trends and have access to case studies of some of the best marketing campaigns in the world.
The speaker for the first XTALK, taking place on 26 July 2011 is Justin Spratt, CEO of leading digital agency Quirk eMarketing. Spratt holds a BCom in Economics with Honours in Finance and an MBA in Strategy and Finance. He is the co-founder of ISLabs and GeekRetreat. Spratt will deliver his talk on Social Media and the new Digital Frontier.
Neil Hart, chairman of MXF said, “The idea for the forum came about at the Eastern Cape’s first Marketing Communications Symposium held in 2010. A need was identified in the industry whereby insightful marketing minds needed a platform to share their ideas and learn from the experts, thus MXF was created with the pure intention of growing marketing and marketers.”
