Dating at Speed in Port Elizabeth

23 August 2012 By //  by Port Elizabethan 1 Comment

We live in a fast paced world of “smart technology” and all seem to have one thing in common: “too few hours in a day”. With our current lifestyles and work commitments meeting a potential partner or love interest is proving to be at the bottom of our TO-DO-LISTS. Enter the fun and very fast paced solution: SPEED DATING!

Local Love Interest groups (in this case PE LOVE) secure venues where Singletons meet and have 8 minute one-on-one “dates” with others. Name tags and dating cards are all that is provided and the rest is up to your charming personality and conversation starters. A bell is rung after 8 minutes and all gentlemen move to the date to their left. Once all couples have “dated” the Singletons hand their Dating Cards in and if a mutual interest is noted, the PE LOVE organizers provide each party with the other’s contact information. The next step is up to you!

The question that is asked over and over is, does Speed Dating actually work? PE LOVE’s answer is simply, YES IT DOES!

PE LOVE ensures that even if you do not romantically match with a date, you have the option to share your information with any Friendship matches; hence their Speed Dating evenings are named MEET & MATCH nights for that very reason. Their success rate to date has been 85% of all members attending have created friendships with one another and have attended more than one MEET & MATCH evening together. By working off of the belief that something magical can become of a friendship, PE LOVE ensures a safe and fun evening for participants to meet with others in their Age Group.

To help all PE LOVE Members calm their nerves the evening is opened with an ice breaker game. These games have been designed so that all members participate and feel at ease within the group. The ice breakers also ensure Members have a few topic pointers to discuss during their “dates”.

Roles have reversed in the Dating Field where Men are no longer viewed as the “Hunters”. Women are making the first attempt to reach out and begin a connection which is why PE LOVE encourages even the shyest of men to sign up and put them to the test! The Meet and Match evenings are designed so that every member attending has fun and is encouraged to leave their nerves at the door. PE LOVE’s resident Photographer captures the evening’s festivities and allows Members to scrapbook their memories directly from his Facebook Fan Page.

To close, have a quick read at what one of the PE LOVE MEMBERS had to say after one of the MEET & MATCH evenings via email:

“Hi Sam

I just wanted to let you know that you are doing something wonderful for people.

I enjoyed myself on Saturday night because it was light and easy going and fun.

I will definitely be joining you again. Thank you, Sam.

There are many people out there that need the safe and fun meetings that you are providing.”
